Teacher Spotlight: Meet Ms. Brooke at Ignite Entrepreneurship Academy

February 16, 2026

At Ignite Entrepreneurship Academy in Lehi, our teachers do not just teach subjects, they build relationships, guide growth, and help students reach their individual potential. This month, we are highlighting Ms. Brooke, one of Ignite’s founding teachers and a cornerstone of our middle school program.

Ms. Brooke has been at Ignite since the very beginning. Over the years, she has taught grades 3 to 8 across all subject areas. She is currently teaching middle school history, science, and ELA, guiding students through some of the most formative academic years. Her experience across grade levels gives her a unique perspective. She understands how students grow, what they need at each stage, and how to help them transition into confident, capable middle schoolers.

When asked what she loves most about teaching at Ignite, Ms. Brooke shared something that captures the heart of our Montessori foundation. She loves being able to follow the child and allow each student to reach their full, individual potential. At Ignite, that means meeting students where they are academically and personally and helping them grow at their own pace while still holding high expectations. It is not a one size fits all classroom. It is personal.

Middle school can be a time of big emotions and rapid growth. But Ms. Brooke says one of the things that makes her smile daily is the kindness and cohesiveness of Ignite’s middle school students. “They are always willing to give each other a hand, and they work so well together.” Recently, the middle school class traveled to Catalina Island. (See above photo!) During the trip, students faced new challenges, stepped outside their comfort zones, and supported one another through it all. Seeing students overcome fears together and celebrate each other in the process was one of those moments that reminded her why she teaches. It was not just about academics. It was about character.

Ms. Brooke describes her classroom as relationship based and student centered. She focuses on building trust and connection first, then meeting the needs of each student individually. That approach creates a classroom environment where students feel safe to ask questions, try new things, and take ownership of their learning. In a Montessori based, entrepreneurship focused school like Ignite, that kind of environment matters. Students are encouraged to think independently, collaborate, and take responsibility for their work, and that starts with strong relationships.

Outside of school, Ms. Brooke enjoys going to escape rooms with friends, watching sports, and spending time with her family. And this year, her dedication was recognized in a big way. She was named Charter Teacher of the Year. For our Ignite community, that recognition comes as no surprise. Ms. Brooke has helped shape Ignite since day one, and her impact continues to be felt in every classroom conversation, every field experience, and every student she mentors.
