Amanda Stafford

Amanda Stafford

Amanda loves seeing children find their love of learning. Her desire is for every student in her class to become a lifelong learner as well as gain confidence in their individual abilities.  She has eight years of experience teaching first and second grade. Since becoming a teacher she has earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. When not in the classroom Amanda is enjoying life with her family. She loves camping, hiking or anything outdoors. She also enjoys snuggling her kids while reading a good book or watching a movie together. They enjoy finding an adventure everywhere they go and had the opportunity to spend the past year in Nashville.

Amber Mortensen

Amber Mortensen

Amber grew up in Fillmore, Utah, but lived in the Midwest for roughly half of her adult life, including time in Michigan, Ohio, and a decade in Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Master of Arts in Montessori Leadership from Sarasota University. During her thirteen year career teaching young children, her emphasis in the classroom has been on nurturing emotional intelligence, curiosity and wonder in a trauma-informed environment. Her husband of 24 years and their five children are her best friends. They are a quirky, nerdy family who enjoys all things geek, being together in nature, fostering their unique talents, and laughing and playing together.

Chelsi Ostergaard

Chelsi Ostergaard

Chelsi has been a Montessori teacher since 2007. She has taught many years in Early childhood and Lower Elementary. Chelsi loves working closely with children and loves seeing them succeed. She wants nothing but the best for every child in her classroom and she enjoys getting to know each child as an individual. Chelsi has completed her Bachelor's degree in Special Education at Westminster College. She has also earned her MACTE Early Childhood Montessori credential through MEPI (Montessori Education Programs International) and her Lower Elementary Montessori AMS credential through the Institute for Montessori Innovation at Westminster College. When she is not teaching, Chelsi loves golfing, spending time with her family, camping and being outdoors.

Elise Staker

Elise Staker

Elise was born and raised in Utah and graduated from Skyridge High school in 2017. She has enjoyed working with children from a very young age. When she learned about Ignite and their approach to education, she knew it was something she wanted to be a part of. It's important to her that each child walks into the classroom feeling welcome, loved and appreciated for their differences. She loves working with different personalities and has a gift to bond with children that may struggle. She has always had a deep appreciation for learning and is excited to help inspire that same passion in others. Elise enjoys to spend her free time reading or doing any sort of art project. She looks forward to many new adventures with the students of IEA!

Rebekah Mende

Rebekah has been working in a Montessori school for the past 3 years. She recently earned her degree in special education and elementary education through Western Governors University. She finds joy in helping students make discoveries and believes that every student can be successful. Rebekah spends most of her free time with her husband and cat. Rebekah is from New Jersey, so she always enjoys a good slice of pizza! Rebekah loves traveling, playing games, reading, and spending time outside.

Roxana Santana

My name is Roxana Santana and I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I have a bachelors degree from the University of California Riverside. Moving to Utah has been the best decision I have made because I am able to give me family a better style of living. I have always loved children and now that I have my own child I have realized that teaching is the career I want to be in. I have been teaching PreK for 2 years and loved every second of it. I am looking forward to learning and gaining more experiences with Ignite.

Tasia Thurston

Miss Tasia holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing, as well as an Associate's Degree in University Studies, from Utah Valley University. She attended an early college high school called UCAS while she also attended classes at UVU. Tasia worked as a lower elementary teacher assistant last year at Ignite and loved it! She enjoys being around kids and being able to encourage their development. Tasia lives in American Fork with her son Ryan.

Hannah Macfarlane has lived Utah her entire life and cannot imagine living anywhere besides this wonderful place! She has had the pleasure of working with kids of all ages-whether that be in an afterschool program, summer camp, elementary school, preschool, and Kindergarten Prep! Hannah originally went to school to become a Master Esthetician. While working toward her certification, she worked at an elementary school and shortly after graduating, realized her true passion was working with kids! She loves being a part of their adventures in learning and growing! There is something so incredible about them and it is so fulfilling to her to be part of this. She has been married to her sweet husband since April 2018 and we love going to movies, concerts, camping, and being together!

Matthew Rhoden

Matthew Rhoden

 Matthew (Matt) Rhoden was born and raised in Lexington Kentucky. As such, he is very passionate about his local sports teams such as the Kentucky Wildcats (for college) and the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds (professionally). In 2019, Matt moved to Utah for new opportunities and since then has adopted the Utah Jazz as his NBA team. Matt has earned his certification in User Experience Design from a technology bootcamp called DevMountain in 2019. He hopes to use his skills one day to enhance the experience for both students and teachers with the technology that they use daily. Since completing the bootcamp, Matt has been working for Ready2Teach as a substitute teacher until May 2021. He has worked as a substitute teacher for Ignite many times and even taken a couple of long term subbing roles.

Jennifer Moulton

Jennifer (Jenni) Moulton joins us from Spectrum Academy where she worked as a paraprofessional in first and third grade and a special education assistant for the past four years. Before that, she taught preschool at My Smart World Preschool in Lindon for three years. Jenni earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in English from Weber State University. She is the mother of three children, two of which have Dyslexia and other learning difficulties. She currently resides in Orem with her husband Ben and three children.

Trevor Knorr

Trevor Knorr

Trevor Knorr was born in Highland, Utah and currently lives in Provo where they are studying toward a bachelor’s degree in English Education at Utah Valley University. They have worked as a teacher’s assistant at Cedar Valley High School and completed service at various schools throughout Utah County while working to become a teacher. They have a passion for being part of a classroom and seeing students grow, and are more excited than ever to make that happen at Ignite Academy. They have always found it most important that students enter the classroom feeling welcome, happy and excited about where they are, and when they learned about the approach to education practiced at Ignite it was clear this was the place they most wanted to make that happen. Trevor also enjoys running, writing and playing tennis in their free time. They are looking forward to being part of IEA and helping to make the school a wonderful environment for all students!

Cheryl Haluska

Cheryl Haluska

Cheryl Haluska recently moved to Utah after living in Indiana her whole life. She has her Child Development Associate degree and 12 years experience teaching preschool. She is so excited to start working with elementary-aged children. Her knowledge and understanding for Montessori learning makes her a perfect fit. With experience in early childhood, she has a passion for meeting children where they are in learning and making it fun. She has 3 grown children and is recently an empty nester. Her and her husband are enjoying exploring Utah in their spare time.
