Firebirds Athletics
IEA is excited to offer competitive athletics for grades 6–8 through the Utah Charter and Small School Athletic League (UCSSAL) starting this school year! Students can join Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, or Basketball across the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons — building teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride along the way. 2026–2027 School Year
Ignite Entrepreneurship Academy is joining the Utah Charter and Small School Athletic League (UCSSAL) this year. IEA students in grades 6–8 can compete as the Ignite Firebirds in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and cross country. New players are welcome, whether they've played for years or are trying a sport for the first time.
Each sport runs only if enough students sign up. If a sport doesn't reach the minimum number of players, that season may be adjusted or cancelled. We'll let families know as early as possible.

How to Register
Registration and payment are both done in one online form. It has three parts:
Parent/guardian information and acknowledgments. Read the Participant Code of Ethics and the Head Injury and Concussion Disclosure with your child.
Emergency contacts and medical provider information.
Payment and submission. Your child is not registered until you pay and submit the form. You'll get a confirmation email once both are received.
Each sport has its own registration deadline. The Fees and Payment section lists every date.
Fall Sports
Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball play on the same dates. Playoffs are the week of 10/5.

$95.00. Includes uniform, UCSSAL registration, and officials. Footwear and shin guards are not included.
Girls Volleyball
$95.00. Includes uniform, UCSSAL registration, and officials. Court shoes are not included.

Fees and Payment
Participation fees cover program oversight, uniforms, UCSSAL registration, and league-assigned officials. Pay through the registration form. Fees must be paid in full before a student can participate.

Refunds: Fees are non-refundable after the first scheduled game, unless a student can't participate for documented medical reasons.

Meet the Athletic Director
Paul Hazelbarth (Coach Hazel)
Athletic Director and K–8 PE/Health teacher
Coach Hazel has spent more than ten years building school athletic programs from the ground up. He has led teams to championship-level success, including serving as head coach of a state championship team.
He believes great programs are built on culture, relationships, and giving kids a place to belong, not on wins alone. At IEA, his goal is a program that builds character, leadership, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, so every student can compete, grow, and represent the school with pride.
Parents who are interested in volunteering as a coach are welcome to reach out.
