Meet the Team

Aaron Nahinu

Health/Physical Education

Aaron Nahinu

Coach Aaron is from Waianae, Hawaii. Growing up in Hawaii with three brothers, he had many opportunities to play and love many sports, both on land and in the ocean. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was watching sports. Coach Aaron's favorite thing to do is to be in the ocean. Coach Aaron has been teaching for the last 9 years. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Secondary Education and a Masters of Education in Advanced Teaching and Leadership. He's very excited to continue to be apart of the IEA team for the upcoming school year! "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I cannot accept not trying." - Michael Jordan

Breann Petersen

Student Support Specialist

Breann Petersen

Breanne is excited to be apart of the Ignite family. She holds a MAT in special education and a masters in educational psychology and is currently working on her doctorate in School Psychology. Breanne has been privileged to work with students with special needs for 15 years, and loves helping students find their drive and passions to grow and learn. Breanne is a lover of all things Disney and outdoors. Chances are when she isn't at school, she is either at Disneyland or hiking in the mountains. Breanne is looking forward to helping the students at Ignite become lifelong learners in such a positive educational environment.

Isabella Perkins

Innovations/Media Center

Isabella Perkins

Izzy’s teaching journey started at a charter school in Sacramento California. She has worked alongside a 6th grade teacher and an art teacher and has spent several summers as a summer camp teacher. This space focused on cultural diversity, environmental stewardship, and self exploration, which she integrates in her developing teaching style. Izzy has expanded on her love of technology and also enjoys teaching remote video game design and esports with an epic STEM program. To have her entire teaching journey circle back to where she found the most comfort in school is such a gift. It is Izzy's honor to cultivate a space for students to learn and grow and she prides herself in creating safe spaces for children to express and discover themselves.

Brooke Waldron

Instructional Coach

Brooke Waldron

Brooke Waldron knew that she would work with kids from a young age. She is very passionate about teaching to each individual child. She has been teaching for 12 years using the Montessori philosophy and is certified in NAMC Upper Elementary. During the summer Brooke works with students with Down Syndrome and Autism. Brooke has toured the Acton Academy model in Austin, Texas and has spent a summer training under Kaylee Reid who is known for her expertise in Project-Based Learning. She was able to implement this training in a private school that she helped start. Brooke has been with Ignite since its opening year and has played an integral role in the development and growth of the Montessori and PBL aspects of ignite's learning model. She is excited to support teachers as they develop their skills and strengths in this unique environment.

Above all else, we love kids. Their individuality, their abilities, their passions. Children are amazing people and we consider ourselves lucky to work with them every day.
